Workforce Development

Our workforce development/employment training programs, is designed to address and intervene one of three major stumbling blocks for reintegrational employment (the other two are housing and social services/case management), as well as present critical components to our communities – public safety and economic sustainability. The project is operated through a retail clothing social enterprise (Back@Ya) and includes: a) soft skills training, b) retail operations (sales) practical applications, c) warehousing/inventory/distribution, and d) job skills development.

Retail jobs/careers (as a consistent wage/high-growth field) and human services (as a vocation that links with restorative justice work) were designated as essential elements of effective long-term employment opportunities.
