Ronnie Marshall
Mick Gardner
CEO & Founder



Mick Gardner has worked thirty years in the fields of corrections, substance abuse, workforce referral, and public health. Through his work with underserved communities, i.e. pre and post-released women and men and their families, veterans, transgendered and HIV-positive populations—Mr. Gardner has established extensive experience as well as documented programmatic design and evidence in restorative justice/healing circles protocols, trauma informed/mindfulness strategies, employment placement, programs development, organizational management, fund raising, community mobilization, and advocacy.

In addition, to the establishment and principle of U.N.I.T.Y, his other roles include Assistant Director to the San Francisco Sheriff’s Department, Five Keys Charter School in the capacity of program development, implementation and evaluation/analyzation for their programs and reentry components (www.fivekeyscharter.org). He also serves as the co-founder, Board Chair, Organizational Sustainability Consultant and Community Ambassador for a prison-based (California State Prison San Quentin) nonprofit organization, No More Tears, A Response to Violence (www,nomoretearssq.org).

Over the years he has presented nationally and internationally on the current issues and evaluation outcomes surrounding underserved/high-risk communities, e.g. prevention/intensive case management, violence prevention, inmate/community forums, family support services, and health education

Many times Mick has stated that adversity is the catalyst elucidating the very best and worst of humanity. He clearly believes he demonstrates his desire to be a facilitator for positive change within underserved communities. His leadership has exemplified the very best that can come out of adversity, with the highest degree of confidence.

Lauren Voss
Alexander Arteaga
CFO



A native of Southern California, Alex Arteaga has been working with nonprofit organizations for over twenty years. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Public Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Dance Education from California State University, Dominguez Hills. He also earned a Masters in Public Administration from the University of San Francisco. Currently, he is enrolled in the University Of California Berkeley Haas School Of Business, Executive Leadership Program.

Over the length of his career, he has worked with a plethora of nonprofit organizations ranging from social service agencies for homeless men, women and their families to domestic violence crisis shelters to agencies that provide mental health services to the community. In addition, he has worked in the public policy arena at the local, state and federal levels in an effort to improve accessibility, affordability and quality of higher education in California.

He has extensive experience in organizational/program development, fundraising, marketing, public/community relations and advocacy. Most notably, he has experience in developing, evaluating and restructuring nonprofit organizations with emphasis on developing organizational infrastructures dealing with governance and operations; short and long-range planning and program/project evaluation.

Steven Davis
Jonnathan Colt

A graduate of University of California, Berkeley with a degree in Computer Science, Jonnathan Colt has spent most of his life in the Bay Area. He has vast experience and knowledge using the most up-to-date operating systems, software, and hardware. This expertise allows him to offer to clients a variety of customizable proprietary systems including:

  • Accounting
  • Donor prospecting, acquisition, and tracking
  • Event management
  • Client management

Mr. Colt is also able to design management systems to our clients' specifications. To keep his skills updated and to increase his knowledge of new software trends, he is continuously testing the latest software and researching how these applications can be put to use in meeting our clients' IT priorities.

Throughout his career, Mr. Colt has played an integral role in setting up and operationalizing a variety of start-up companies. He is well versed in the formal startup process, including dealing with the necessary governmental agencies and stake/stock holders.

Whether for profit or nonprofit, he believes that an organization should have a strong Internet presence that incorporates the latest technologies and trends to attract visitors and engage them in a virtual conversation and/or take action around a particular issue. Mr. Colt has developed a variety of websites that incorporate some of the most popular web-based bells and whistles, including blogs, social media interaction, and video streaming.

His life-long passion and talent for graphic design has enabled him to acquire the skills necessary to develop print and electronic campaigns that are as unique as our clients. Whether it's an agency brochure, annual report, or special event marketing materials for a new corporate identity, Mr. Colt, working closely with the client, has designed materials that are fresh and innovative, appropriate for the target audience while maintaining a timeless look and feel.
